D' Holder is one of the foremost and storied knife designers in the knife making world.
He's a Texan boy who'd be happy to spin a yarn for you, with his full drawl, about becoming a full time knife-maker, when retiring from General Dynamics in 1988, and after being asked to make a knife for a gentleman for whom he had built a custom rifle. The rest is history and the price at the time was $8.

Over the several decades D' has not only designed made critically acclaimed fine blades with a wonderful sense of artistry, but he has served the knife-making world on the Board of Directors of the Knife Maker's Guild, where he was a Director, and then Secretary/Treasurer, and also President. He received many accolades and awards both for his craftsmanship of fine knives, as well as his service to the industry, and in 2003 was inducted to the Knife Maker's Hall of Fame.

In addition to his Custom work, D' used to collaborate with Imperial Schrade, and now collaborates with Wally Gardiner to produce the Canal Street Cutlery (CSC) D' Holder Bowie Hunter and the CSC D' Holder Drop Point Hunter. Both knives are elegant Rc 61 hard Sandvik Steel, integrally fashioned out of one piece with fine sharp edges, fully tapered tangs, guards and premium featured materials in the handle.
